How Long Does It Take to Beat Hitman 2?

Hitman 2 has many different locations and missions, as well as sniper assassination maps. How long does it take to beat?

How Long Does It Take to Beat Hitman 2?

Let’s look at how the game is put together before we answer that question. Like the last game, this one has six main mission areas that players can enjoy. We won’t say what those areas are, so as not to give anything away, but there is something important to note. Even though there are six, one of them is so small that it hardly counts.

In Hitman 2, the first area you’ll go to is like a tutorial. It’s a smaller area with less to do and fewer ways to play it over and over again. As a result, the other five main story missions take up most of the game’s time. They make the game longer and more fun to play more than once. On your first playthrough, each mission can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours.

This makes it hard to say how long it will take to beat Hitman 2. But we know for sure that the game will take at least six hours and maybe as much as ten hours for some players. It really depends on how patient you are and how good you are at killing.

Hitman 2 Length Explained

Hitman 2 brings Agent 47 back, and this time he has even more assignments and missions, so players will want to know how long it takes to finish. Even though it is called Hitman 2, this game is the seventh in the Hitman series.

Hitman 2 is a follow-up to the 2016 game Hitman. Agent 47 is back to find the “Shadow Client” and destroy his army. This mission sends him to places all over the world, where he has to kill people who have been given to him. Assassin work requires stealth, and Agent 47’s job is to work as quietly and quickly as possible.

So, how long does it take to finish all of Hitman 2’s missions and game modes? That depends on the player, but the game takes about 7 to 10 hours to finish, which is about the same as the last one. That may not seem like a long time, but players need to think about what the game is about and how the time it takes to play may change.

Hitman 2 Review Roundup

So far there aren’t many Hitman 2 reviews available, but they’ll undoubtedly keep flowing in over the next few days. We’ll be covering the game extensively as well, especially once its Escalation Targets start arriving. In the meantime, however, feel free to peruse the various reviews we’ve rounded up. Also, if you’re curious about when exactly the game launches, we’ve got you covered there as well.

GameSpot

GameSpot gave Hitman 2 a generous 8 out of 10. In particular, the GameSpot reviewer praised the game’s intricate level design.

PC Gamer

PC Gamer’s review is also kind, awarding Hitman 2 an 84 out of 100. Points are knocked off since, in the reviewer’s opinion, Io Interactive played it a bit too safe with the sequel. However, the review also highlights how Hitman 2 refines its predecessor’s already solid murder simulation formula.

IGN

IGN dinged Hitman 2 slightly for its lack of innovation, saying it “feels more like Hitman 1.5.” However, IGN’s reviewer still came away impressed, awarding the sequel a 7.7 out of 10.

GamesRadar

Like IGN, GamesRadar expressed its concern over Hitman 2’s lack of meaningful innovation. The reviewer also noted that Hitman 2 can’t really compete with games like Fallout 76 or Red Dead Redemption 2. However, the 3.5 out of 5 scores reflect the reviewer’s satisfaction with the sequel’s core gameplay.

USGamer

USGamer praised both Hitman 2’s initial presentation and its forthcoming potential (such as the above-mentioned Elusive Targets). That double helping of praise dovetailed nicely into the final 4.5 out of 5 review score.

Eurogamer

Eurogamer doesn’t use a number-based review scoring system, but what it lacks in numbers it makes up for in words. The publication’s Hitman 2 review both delves into the series’ past and highlights the sequel’s new additions. The entire review is worth reading for sure, but in short, Eurogamer enjoyed the sequel.

Kotaku

Like Eurogamer, Kotaku doesn’t assign hard numbers or letter grades to its reviews. However, Kotaku’s Hitman 2 reviewer was clearly charmed by the game’s improved mechanics and larger levels. The reviewer did note that the sequel’s levels aren’t as posh or fancy as locations from its 2016 predecessor. However, that was pretty much the only negative element they could find.
