The 74th Golden Globe Awards: With seven, La La Land break record



With Seven prizes, Hollywood musical La La Land broke the record for the most Golden Globe Awards.
It was nominated for different awards and won all nominations including best musical or comedy film, best director, screenplay, score and song.
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling who stared in the movie also won in the acting categories.

The award winners include;

Best drama film -Moonlight
Best actor in a film -Cassey Affleck in Manchester by the sea
Best film drama actress -Isabelle Huppert in Elle
Best foreign language film -Elle (France)
Best supporting film actress - Viola Davis in Fences
Best supporting film actor -Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Nocturnal Animals
Best animated feature film -Zootopia
Best screenplay -Darmien Chazelle in La La Land
Best director -Darmien Chazelle in La La Land
Best original score -Justin Hurwitz in La La Land
Best original song -City of Stars, Justin Hurwitz in La La Land

Cecil B Demille award for outstanding contribution to entertainment -Meryl Streep

The ceremony featured several references to Mr Donald Trump before Meryl Streep had his own say about Mr Trump

Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman also had their wins in the television categories for The Night Manager.

The television awards include;

Best television series drama -The Crown
Best Television series musical or comedy -Atlanta
Best television limited series -The people v. O.J. Simpson: America Crime Story
Best performance by an actress in a limited series -Sarah Paulson in The People v. O.J. Simpson: America Crime Story
Best performance by an actor in a limited series -Tom Huddleston in The Night Manager
Best performance by an actress in a TV series (Drama) -Claire Fly in The Crown
Best performance by an actor in a TV series (Drama) -Billy Bob Thornton in Goliath
Best performance by an actress in a TV series (Musical or Comedy) -Tracee Ellis Ross in Black-ish
Best performance by an actor in a TV series (Musical or Comedy) -Donald Glover in Atlanta
Best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a series -Olivia Colman in the Night Manager
Best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a series -Hugh Laurie in The Night Manager.
