We Will Not Forget the Darfuris

Today is the 15th anniversary of the start of conflict in Darfur, the first Genocide of the 21st century. The Darfur genocide has caused the deaths of approximately 400,000 Darfuris, and displaced more than three million people. Although the International Criminal Court has indicted Sudan’s president, Omar al-Bashir, for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, Bashir has held onto his position and approximately 300,000 Darfuris are still living in refugee camps in Chad and elsewhere.

Jewish World Watch was founded as a direct response to the Darfur genocide. We remain committed to the Darfuris, through programs on the ground in the refugee camps and by mobilizing against genocide and mass atrocities in Darfur and elsewhere.

Our current projects in Darfuri refugee camps include a Perma-Gardening initiative, which helps Darfuri refugees create water-efficient gardens to produce their own nutritious crops year round, greatly improving their food security and reducing reliance upon external assistance and international aid to survive.

JWW also serves Darfuri refugees in Chad through the Little Ripples program, a preschool program that offers a safe and nurturing educational environment for the youngest refugees.

Your support for Jewish World Watch makes these projects and all of our work possible. Today, on the anniversary of the Darfur genocide, we vow to continue the fight against genocide and mass atrocities and to continue to provide relief to survivors. Please support our mission with a donation today.
