JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Jan. 31, 2019 – The Missouri State Auditor’s Office today issued a statement in response to a lawsuit by the Clay County Commission to prevent the Auditor from conducting a comprehensive review during a citizen-requested audit of Clay County.  Earlier today, Auditor Galloway issued a subpoena to Clay County to require the county to turn over documents associated with an ongoing audit.  The statement from the office is below:

“The Clay County Commission’s legal action today seeks to silence the voices of thousands of its own citizens who asked for their government to be audited.
