  • Winning the toss, New Zealand decided to bat first scoring 196/2 in the 2nd T20I in Rajkot.
  • It was a Colin Munro show as the Kiwi opener went on to score 109* off 58 balls, the only batsman to ever hit a century against India in India in T20Is.
  • He is also the first batsman to score two T20I centuries in a year.

  • Munro only the fourth player with two T20I 100s

    A second T20I 100 for Munro meant that he is just the fourth player to join the small group of players with two T20I tons. Other three are Brendon McCullum, Chris Gayle, and Evin Lewis.

    Virat Kohli becomes the second highest T20I run scorer

  • Kohli with a score of 65 in today's match reached a total of 1943 T20I runs, becoming the second highest run scorer in the format after Brendon McCullum (2140).
  • The Indian skipper also reached the 7000 run milestone in T20 cricket, the second quickest to do so (211 innings) after Chris Gayle (192). He has the highest T20 career runs from India.

  • Mohammed Siraj's debut for India

    Having debuted in the 2nd T20I against NZ, Mohammed Siraj became the 71st player to play for India in T20Is.
