  • Malik asked all supporters of their cause to refrain from shopping or transacting with businesses that refused to give their support for Jat community's demands in writing.
  • While addressing protesters in Jassia village, he asked the community to stop paying bills to government agencies such as electricity, water, loan repayments etc.

  • In a door-to-door campaign, the organizing committee of the Jat stir were giving out black scarves to the women and the men were given black turbans to sport.
  • It appears that the Jat community may observe 'Black Holi' by not celebrating it: even last year Holi was low-key given massive violence in Haryana in February 2016 during the state-wide Jat agitation.

    Jat leader Ashok Balhara said NH- 1, 8 and 10 passing through Haryana would be clogged by tractor-trailers moving towards Delhi. He added 50,000 Jat protesters would enter Delhi on March 2 and post-Holi, the number would be 5 crore.

    Jats threaten to cut Delhi's milk supply

  • Jat leaders have threatened to cut off the supply of milk to Delhi, if their demands are not met.
  • Yashpal Malik, the president of the All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti said, "we will not supply milk to private parties in Delhi for a day as a token protest."
  • He added that they would intensify their stir after Holi.

  • The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will shut all services outside the capital from Sunday, in light of the Jat protests. They did so at the direction of Delhi police.
  • Police have also ordered the gates of all stations to remain shut from 11:30 pm to avoid law and order issues.
  • The CISF has been ordered to deploy quick reaction forces as well.
