We won't bow to any undue pressure

UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the promulgation of new constitution is a matter of Nepali people’s judgement and dignity.
“Though we could not draft the constitution the way we wanted from the Constituent (CA) Assembly, we were able to avert a situation where the CA would have become a total failure” said Dahal on Tuesday during the lunch of a book titled ‘Prachandapath Ko Bijaya’ or the 'Victory of Prachandapath', authored by UCPN (Maoist) leader Gopal Kiranti.
He said the top political parties will seriously discuss the purported Blockade of supplies to Nepal.
“The constitution is not against any nation,” said Dahal. “We cannot be exptected bown to any undue pressure. We want to prove that Nepali people are capable of making their own decision,” Dahal said.
“We don't want to fight or have an argument with India. If India enforces blockade, we will ride bicycles, instead of vehicles,” said Dahal, adding, “The issue of Adivasi, Janjati, Madhesi, Tharu and Muslim is our internal matter and if anyone tries to dominate us while trying to address our internal problems, we are ready for retaliation.”
Stressing on the need for a strong national unity, Dahal said, “We will not bow before anyone so as to let down our people. Let us all have a firm resolve.”
Indian journalist Anand Swaroop Verma, who was also present in the programme, said it is a matter of shame for the Indian government to impose economic blockade against Nepali people. Saying that such blockade is enforced only at a time of war, Verma questioned, “Who is India? Who gave it such rights?
Verma, who keeps a close tab on Nepali politics, said the citizens of a country can decide their own fate.
