Three new domestic airlines are expected to get approval to start operations in Pakistan. Q-Airlines, Fly Jinnah, and Jet Airlines are in the process to initiate their operations in Pakistan as soon as the Civil Aviation Authority completes the certification process.

According to the sources, the scrutiny of Q-Airlines and Fly Jinnah have been completed while the scrutiny process of Jet Airlines is underway.

The application will be sent to the Aviation Division and later to the federal cabinet for approval. With the start of three new airlines, the number of private airlines working in Pakistan will jump to six.

Currently, three private airlines- Air Blue, Serene Air, and Air Sial are operational in Pakistan. As per the rules, the new airlines must operate domestic operations for one year before starting international flights.

The entry of three airlines in the aviation industry will create job opportunities for people and help stabilize the economy that has been severely affected by the pandemic COVID-19.

Meanwhile, PIA gets two A320-200s from Seraph Aviation Group. David Butler, Chief Executive, Seraph Aviation Group said: “We are delighted to have secured a contract for two A320-200s with PIA (Pakistan International Airlines). This follows a process in which we faced strong competition, but where the combination of technical ability and financial modeling achieved the highest marks. We look forward to delivering both aircraft in the coming months and to commencing a long and positive relationship with Pakistan International Airways.”

He stated that PIA has an aggressive growth-based strategy in which the renewal and expansion of the fleet are central, along with consolidation on productive routes and expansion on new routes.
