My Five Eggs

Raquel called from Sydney  this afternoon, it’s been too long since I heard from here, but then again I can’t really argue I’m as terrible for keeping in touch with her as she is with me. I was looking out of the window whilst she was describing the Weather there and it made me realise just how lucky they are over there, not that she needs to be told, she lived here for the first 40 years of her life too so she knows what it’s like here. That said, I think the weather will perk up this week, in which case I will head outside with my trowel and sunhat to take full advantage of what the great British summertime has to offer.

As predicted mother nature delivered on her promise, was at the Garden centre this morning getting my supplies ready! Lovely up there, I even stopped for a moment to enjoy what they had to offer in their little café, banoffee pie to die for I tell you! Back to work now though I’ve starting work on the beds in the front garden, it’s not looking too bad since last year, and I’m hoping the clematis I’ve just bought will bring things to life a little. The guttering needs to be cleared out too, I think I’ll leave that to Trevor though, he seems to like getting the ladder out and looking down on the world from all the way up there, I think it makes him feel powerful, bless him since retiring he doesn’t seem to know what to do with himself, little does he know what I’ve got in store for him!
Grandparent duty this evening, little Sophie is playing a part in her schools production of Joseph and the amazing technicolour dreamcoat, so is Stephen too, singing in the choir. Brilliant stuff I have to say, I don’t know what it is about events like that, but with all the bad press you hear about kids these days, it nice to see them all being so productive together in something like this. I’m sure even the naughty ones must muck in to a certain extent. Our two were brilliant of course, Sophie had a few spoken parts , and without speaking too soon, we could well have another Judy Garland on our hands… but I’m biased of course
