The Many Benefits of Planting Berry Bushes

Berry plants are great sellers states Tammy Sons of Tn Nursery People who love to garden are always looking for the best plants they can invest in for their yard. With so many plants, shrubs, and trees to choose from, it is natural to look to see what plants work best depending on what part of the country you live in. However, choosing plants, shrubs, and trees based on location is not the only concern. The soil type, the gradient, and topography of your land, as well as the overall landscape of other plantings in the yard, can make a difference in the success of plantings.

One of the more universal shrubs for a variety of different locations throughout the country are berry shrubs. There are quite a few different berries that fall into this category, and almost all these plants offer a lot of benefits to the homeowner. Certainly, if the soil and location are right, berry bushes can thrive and allow for a wonderful harvest of fresh berries. Blackberry bushes can provide a good harvest for 15-20 years, making it an exceptional investment.

However, berry bushes are also excellent at protecting against ground erosion, attract a wide variety of birds. Berry bushes not only give birds food, but they also allow for great sheltering spaces because they are lower to the ground and not as likely to cause problems for birds in storms and are typically safer from other predatory birds.

In addition, berry bushes are great for composting the soil and adding great ingredients back into the earth. They are an excellent source to help honeybee populations and are considered an overall eco-friendly plant in all types. Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, and Huckleberries grow in bushes and Cherries grow on full grown trees.

Almost all zones in the U.S. can support some type of berry bush except the most arid areas. In the more arid areas, only raised bed plants that can be watered and cared for will survive.
