Was having a wee think about supports for my tomato and pepper plants plants that will be going into the greenhouse and my outdoor raspberries. For my raspberries I had put together a frame of Bamboo canes that had 2 canes stuck into the ground and then horizontal canes tied to these 2 upright canes using string. The wind and weather caused the string to loosen and the frame ended up not looking like a frame anymore.
With this in mind I created a simple little support system for the bamboo canes. I found a bit of PVC pipe in the house. It was a piece from a play tent that my son no longer uses.
I then cut 2 pieces of the pipe 4 inches in length and drilled a small hole in the centre of each piece. The small hole is to insert a small screw through to lock the bamboo in place.

I then applied super glue onto the PVC pipe behind where the holes had been drilled, put the pieces together to form a "+" and clamped them in a vice to allow the glue to dry. You need to make sure that the holes are facing outwards so they can be seen when you form the "+"

I let the pieces dry for 24hrs and it seems to have formed a good bond. Will wait to see how the weather affects it.
I then inserted a bamboo cane in to create the vertical support and tightened a small wood screw so the support would be locked into place.

I then inserted a bamboo cane into the other piece to create the horizontal support and locked it in place with another wood screw.

The process would be repeated for the other side of the support but can't show it here as I haven't got around to making another one yet as I wanted to see if this one would work first ! Will post other images of entire finished project when complete.
