Sunil Gavaskar’s special moment at Queens Park Cricket Club during the 100th Test between India and West Indies

As the Indian team takes on the West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad on the occasion of the 100th Test between the two teams, former Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar was congratulated by the Queen’s Park Cricket Club. Cricketer turned commentator posted a video on his social media handles where he was seen receiving a memento by Queen’s Park Cricket Club officials during the 100th India-West Indies Test. Former cricketer from India also posted a few photos with Brian Lara.

“With the ‘Prince of Trinidad’, Brian Lara, and Nigel Camacho, president of QPCC, after the nice congratulations from Queens Park Cricket Club in Trinidad. My home away from home. Lots of love and gratitude to my West Indian fans,” Gavaskar wrote on Instagram.

Gavaskar had excellent figures against the West Indies as in 27 Test matches he amassed 2749 runs at an amazing average of 65.45 using 13 centuries and seven half-centuries against the West Indies. His highest score in Test cricket 236 also came against the Caribbean team. Both teams face each other for the 100th time as the first match was held in Delhi in November 1948. Previously, Gavaskar also recalled a few moments during his playing days in the Windies.

“Here I went for my first tour and I know a lot of people there. I know the legacy those great cricketers left behind. There is a pretty relaxed temperament which is fantastic, but when it comes to play sometimes a relaxed temperament doesn’t get much results. For Clive Lloyds, Malcolm Marshalls, Viv Richards, Andy Roberts, Michael Holdings, Garners it was a wonderful era for West Indies Test cricket, every Test match they played was an extra income,” he said at The Indian Express Idea Exchange.
