Yamuna again above danger in Delhi, chance of heavy rain in Uttarakhand and Himachal

Water level Yamuna: The water level of Yamuna in the national capital again exceeded the Danger Limit of 205.33 meters on Friday. This slowed efforts to rehabilitate flood victims in flood-affected low-lying areas. IMD has forecast heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal.

According to Central Water Commission (CWC) data, Yamuna’s water level reached 205.34 meters at 6pm on Friday and is expected to reach 205.45 meters at 11pm. Due to rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, there has been a slight fluctuation in water levels in the past 2-3 days.

After flowing above the Danger limit for the past 8 days, the water level of the Yamuna dropped below the danger limit at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. It dropped to 205.22 meters at 05:00 on Wednesday, after which the water level started to rise again and began to flow above the danger mark. The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated places in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh until July 22.
