Creators of ‘Adipurush’ get exemption from Supreme Court, petition to ban film rejected

Supreme Court ruling on Adipurush: There was a lot of buzz about South Superstar Prabhas’ recently released movie ‘Adipurush’. People had strongly objected to the dialogues and portrayal of the actors in the film. There was so much controversy over the film that the case had reached court. There was a constant demand to ban ‘Adipurush’.

Now the Supreme Court has ruled on the petition filed against Adipurush. Lawyer Mamta Rani had filed a petition against the creators of Adipurush, accusing them of hurting religious feelings. The Supreme Court has given a great relief to the creators of Adipurush.

The Supreme Court has refused to comply with Adipurush’s demand to revoke his CBFC certificate. The court says that CBFC is doing its job and that the challenge of the certificate issued by it cannot be brought directly before the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has also suspended the ongoing proceedings in several Supreme Courts against the creators of Adipurush. Prabhas and Kriti Sanon actor ‘Adipurush’ was released in theaters on 16 June 2023. Due to the controversy, the film turned out to be a flop at the box office.
