Prime Minister Modi is happy to see an Indian contingent at the Bastille Day parade

PM Modi France Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi described his visit to France on Saturday as a memorable one and said it was great to see the Indian contingent take part in the Bastille Day parade. A contingent from all three armies of India took part in the parade.

Rafale fighter jets of the Indian Air Force (IAF) also participated in the ‘flypast’ along with the French fighter jets in the parade.

Modi was invited by French President Emmanuel Macron on a two-day official visit to France. He arrived on Saturday for a one-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after finishing his visit to France.

The Prime Minister tweeted the photos from the parade, writing: “The visit to France was unforgettable. It was also special that I had the opportunity to attend the Bastille Day parade. It was great to see the Indian contingent take part in it. I express my gratitude to President Emmanuel Macron and the French people for their warm hospitality. May the friendship between India and France continue to grow.

The French National Day or Bastille Day holds a special place in France’s history as it commemorates the storming of the Bastille Prison during the French Revolution of 1789. The main attraction of this event is the Bastille Day Parade.
