New Delhi: The Center has asked its employees to take short ‘Y-breaks’ (yoga breaks) to de-stress and refresh themselves, so they can better focus on work. ‘Y-break’ here refers to doing Yoga in the office in your own chair. The Ministry of Personnel, in an order, has called on all Central Government Ministries/Departments to implement this new yoga guide for people in the workplace and promote yoga.
According to the order, “The Ministry of AYUSH is initiating ‘Y-break’ in the workplace with the aim of de-stressing and refreshing the staff, so that they can concentrate on work in a better way.” The response you are getting is very encouraging. The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and the Ministry of AYUSH have created new facilities for officers who cannot go out to practice yoga due to their busy schedules.” This order was issued on June 12.
