Seeing the rush of blood, the working porters informed the patrolling Railway Protection Force personnel. Quickly, the senior officers also arrived and with the help of CCTV recording they caught the defendant at Platform-4 within 30 minutes of getting the information. He was hiding behind the shed post. The deceased was said to be Jitendra alias Topi (35), a resident of Chhattisgarh. While the accused is Dinsagar Dondiba Sadaphule (32), a resident of Pune. They were both drug addicts. At the time of the incident, Topi had also consumed ganja while the defendant Dinsagar was intoxicated.

After 9 pm Thursday night, both and a few other workers began eating at the Itarsi end of Platform 4. They were all intoxicated. Meanwhile, Dinsagar had a fight with some workers. Topi also abused him. Somehow everyone calmed down and began to sleep by spreading out the sheet. Meanwhile, Dinsagar’s head began to bleed. He placed a heavy stone near the cap’s head and sat on it. He then stood up and kept looking for an opportunity for a long time. As soon as he saw the opportunity, he threw a stone at the head of Topi who was sleeping in a deep sleep. A stream of blood spurted from the head of the cap and pooled there. After the murder, Dinsagar quietly walked away from there and began to look from behind the post of the shed. At the same time, the workers who slept next to the cap woke up and, seeing the blood, quietly took their sheets and moved away from there.

PI Naveen Kumar was also present. Dinsagar was not seen going to any other platform in the CCTV footage. Immediately ASI Pawar, Lende, Parihar, Patil, Dheeraj Dalal, Ravindra Kumar, Bedale, Gupta, Choure, Bathri, as well as CIB’s Jasveer Singh, GRP’s Ajay Singh and Hingne and the Borde team started searching for Dinsagar. Dinsagar was found sitting hidden behind the pole of the shed at the Itarsi end of Platform 4. He tried to run away but was caught by RPF Jawans. The special thing is that this quest for the killer was completed in just 2.52 minutes.
