Three films screened in Cannes on Wednesday

In the ‘Midnight Screening’ category, the Film was screened at the Théâtre Grand Lumière to a packed room. Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhatt were also present at the time along with director Anurag Kashyap who played a key role in the film.

Three films were screened in the span of a few hours on Wednesday at the 76th Cannes Film Festival and it was an unexpected day for India. The day ended with the screening of Anurag Kashyap’s much talked about film ‘Kennedy’. The screening of this thriller began shortly after midnight. In the ‘Midnight Screening’ category, the film was screened at the Théâtre Grand Lumière to a packed room. Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhatt were also present at the time along with director Anurag Kashyap who played a key role in the film. Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra was also in the audience. The last time an Indian film was shown in the ‘Midnight Screening Section’ in Cannes was exactly ten years ago.

The movie was ‘Monsoon Shootout’ which was co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. The film ‘Kennedy’ is 142 minutes long, the screening of which ended at 2:30 p.m. After the film was shown, it was highly praised. It was a special day for India. Kanu Behl’s ‘Agra’ was screened in the ‘Fortnite Directors’ category at Théâtre Croisette in the evening. The theater was full even during the screening of this movie. On Wednesday afternoon, the Marathi short film ‘Nehmich’ was screened at the Bunel Theater in the ‘Palais des Festivals’. The film is directed by Yudhjit Basu, an alumnus of FTII, Kolkata.
