Issuing a press release on Monday, crime branch inspector Hemant Patil said he received information from an informant that farmer Ravi Kalusingh Padvi, a resident of Lakadaya Hanuman in Shirpur tehsil, had grown banned drugs among the crops of cotton, gram and harhar. According to the information, the LCB team along with the rural police station in charge, Suresh Shirsath, raided and found a total of 285 hemp trees of about 3 to 5 feet tall planted.

FIR registered against the farmer

The police confiscated such narcotic plants and had them weighed, the market value of which turned out to be more than seven lakh rupees. Of the one that has been seized, the police have registered an FIR against farmer Padvi for illegal cultivation.
