Tales of Asgard: Loki's Fortune - Base Gameplay

The Tales of Asgard: Loki's Fortune is a 5x5-reel grid video slot game, it uses a pay any way style payline structure, which means by default there are 3125 ways to win that, but this can increase up to huge 100,000 ways thanks to the special Split Mystery Symbols that Loki can manipulate on the reels.

Before you get too excited at the staggering potential,  the symbol pays are very low, with the highest paying symbols paying just 2x stake for a 5 of a kind win, so these winning ways are pretty much essential for any big wins, or even the max win of 20,000x stake.

Loki is central to this slot, as you would expect from the title, sitting in his throne with the powers to manipulate the reels with three unique features triggered from Loki's Mischief, with added wilds, added scatter symbols and splitting ways the base game plays quite nicely with the chance of big wins, and frequent bonus triggers as a result.

Don't rush to mute this slot either, as the accompanying music adds to the immersion of this machine. However, the repetitive voice of Loki announcing the features can begin to grate a little after extended play. An option to mute specific parts of the game would have been an ideal compromise!

Mystery Symbols

A key symbol on Loki's Fortune is the Mystery symbols present on all reels and can land on any spin.

These symbols act as blockers on the reels but land them in addition with a Wild Symbol or from an added Wild thanks to Loki, and they get converted into one symbol type of kind, in a reveal type nature.

The Split mystery symbols reveal two symbols instead of 1 and, as a result, increase the number of winning combinations drastically when multiple reels contain these mystery symbols.

The one caveat to the Mystery Symbols acting as blockers is that if a full screen of mystery symbols lands, a reveal will occur without the requirement of a wild.

Factor in that this will be an infrequent occurrence as the win potential from a full screen or mix of split symbols will be an instantly huge win regardless of symbol type reveal.

Loki Wilds

During regular play, the main symbols to look out for are the Loki Wild symbols and the Emerald Scatters. Both symbols appear naturally on the reels and can be added from the Loki's Mischief mini-feature, which is randomly activated.

The wild symbol acts as a "regular wild substitution" symbol with the addition that it will convert any of the Mystery symbols into a matching symbol type. Think of this as a symbol reveal feature that only occurs when a wild is present and mystery stacks.

Emerald Scatters

The Emerald scatter are required to trigger the free spins round, with three or more required. The bonus trigger can occur from a regular base game spin or with the help of the Added Scatters feature, which adds two scatters onto the reels making it much easier to trigger the bonus round.
