Fill this meter completely (Level 4) and you can look forward to the extremely potent Wasteland Spins mode at the final level which plays out with just 4 different symbols on the reels along with the 3 middle reels merging together to create a mega symbol with a huge amount of varying winning ways on offer with the remaining free spins.

Whilst all this sounds incredibly confusing, during real play it becomes apparent very quickly just how the main bonus feature works and interacts together to progress to this end game free spins feature.

Base Game

The base gameplay is a fairly standard 243-way slot, well apart from the completely crazy design, but you should be looking out for the regular Fallout Scatter symbols which are present on reels 2 to 5, and hoping for 3 or 4 of them landing in view to trigger  7 or 10 Bunker Raid Spins respectively.

• xSplit Wilds – The special xSplit Wild symbols are only present in the base game and can be found on the last 3 reels only.

When these symbols land in view they also split the symbol to the left of it on the reels, doubling its presence on the reels.

Some nice interactions here are that if a regular scatter symbol is hit by an xSplit Wild then it gets upgraded to the even more potent Super Scatter symbol.

Triggering the free spins with Super Scatters present means that these symbols and the positions below them become sticky xWays Symbols during the bonus round.

Bonus Buys

• Scatter – The Scatter symbol can land on reels 2-5. The Fallout Scatter symbol doesn’t get split by the xSplit Wild but instead gets upgraded to a Super Scatter symbol when this occurs.  Landing 3 or more Scatters on the reels will trigger Bunker Raid Spins.
• Super Scatter – If these are present on the reels and the Bunker Raid Spins are triggered then the position of the Super Scatter and positions below it will convert into sticky xWays symbols.

• xWays Symbol – the xWays symbol can only land on the three middle reels (2, 3, 4). When these land in view they will reveal a random regular symbol. The size of the ways can be in the range of 2-4 symbols in terms of new ways created, and if multiple xWays symbols land in view then they will all reveal the same matching random symbol.

• Sticky xWays Symbol – These are present during the Bunker Free Spins and stay in view on the reels for the duration of this feature. Any further xWays symbol that lands during the bonus round award will award +1 extra spin, and merged into any of the already sticky xWays symbols that are present on the reels.

Bunker Raid Spins

The Bunker Raid Spins (Free Spins) is triggered by landing 3 or 4 Scatter/Super Scatter symbols trigger on the reels and award  7 or 10 Bunker Raid Spins respectively.

During the Bunker Raid Spins, the special xWays symbol remains sticky for the entire bonus round after landing, the Super Scatters symbols if landed by the xWilds split feature will convert themselves and symbols below into xWays symbols when entering the mode.

When the xWays symbol land on the reels during the bonus round they also increase the Hoarder Level Up Meter which leads to the symbol removal feature along with triggering the final Wasteland free Spins mode if fully completed.

Also, each new xWays symbol that lands will award +1 spin which helps to extend the bonus round.

Hoarder Level Up

The Hoarder level up removes lower paying symbols from the reels as more of the xWays symbols are landed on the reels during the bonus round For every third collected xWays symbol, a new hoarder level is reached.

• Hoarder Level 1 – 3 xWays collected: The lowest paying character symbol and object symbol are removed from the reels.
• Hoarder Level 2 – 6 xWays collected: The second lowest paying character symbol and object symbol are removed from the reels.
• Hoarder Level 3 – 9 xWays collected: The third lowest paying character symbol and object symbol are removed from the reels.

Wasteland Spins

Wasteland Spins is the final level with the maximum number of collected xWays and only 4 different symbols left on the reels on the reels.

All of the remaining spins are played out using this feature once reached, with many of the high and low paying symbols now removed from the reels and only 4 different symbols left on the reels, making it very easy to land huge wins.

The middle 3 reels are combined into a huge Mega Symbol with varying winning ways assigned on each spin.
