The game released its season 4 update, which has been a hit among players. Despite this, EA has announced the cancellation of the game on May, citing poor financial performance.

Another reason is, EA has other plans for the future of Apex Legends Mobile. As CEO of EA, Andrew Wilson has noted that games with cross-progression tend to be more popular and he has hinted at the possibility of future releases having cross-progression for thier mobile games.
“The biggest new launches that are seeing the most success are the ones that are deeply connected to the broader franchise where there’s not always cross-play but certainly cross-progression and the feeling that they’re part of a single unified community and a single unified game experience.”
