Dynamite prepares to release a legendary GARGOYLES issue

Right on the heels of the hotly anticipated new Gargoyles series this month written by franchise creator Greg Weisman and drawn by George Kambadais, Dynamite has announced the February release of the Gargoyles #1 Facsimile Edition. For the first time in nearly 30 years, fans will have this hard-to-find key issue featuring the first appearance of Disney’s Gargoyles in comic form.

Initially released in 1995 during the height of the original TV show’s run, Marvel’s Gargoyles series ran for 11 issues written by Martin Pasko (Superman, Doctor Fate) and Mort Todd (Tales from the Crypt). The first issue featured a cover by Joe Madureira. Amanda Conner captured the characters perfectly on the interior pages. Creators also involved in the series include Jimmy Palmiotti, Grant Miehm, Alberto Saichann, and more.

Dynamite shared:

“The original issues for the series are highly sought after by fans of Gargoyles, Disney, and great classic comics all around, hard to track down or going for premium prices in the market. Dynamite is excited to bring this iconic release back to stores and also to share it with the newest generation of fans at an affordable price.”

Gargoyles #1 Facsimile Edition is slated for release in February 2022. Comic book fans are encouraged to preorder copies of the issue with their local comic book retailers. It will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus, and more.
