Action247 Same-Game Parlay for May 4, 2023

We open by saying May the Fourth be with you for those potential Star Wars fans reading this blog.

Last night, we shook it up to shake it off and re-find our winning ways by creating a multi-game parlay using nothing but total points/goals lines and NBA and NHL playoff games.

We took the New Jersey Devils and Carolina Hurricanes to hit the over of 5.5, which they did in the Canes’ 5-1 victory. For the final leg of our parlay, the Kings of the Over returned to the blog and reasserted their claim to the moniker, hitting the over with the Vegas Golden Knights in VGK’s 6-4 win over McDavids of the North.

In the first leg of our parlay, we picked one of the blog’s regularly featured teams – the Philadelphia 76ers – and the Boston Celtics to hit the over for the second-straight game. The return of NBA MVP Joel Embiid wasn’t enough to help the 76ers as the Celtics put a whoopin’ on Philly, winning 121-87.

However, the total points line was set to 216.5 points. With 208 total points scored in the game, it hit the under and handed us another parlay loss. Yesterday’s loss drops our weekly Record to 0-4, but we improve to 7-5 on individual picks.

Always undeterred and with our Parlay Blog championship belt always in sight – but slightly out of reach – we’re returning to the same-game parlay to find our winning ways.

Golden State Warriors over Los Angeles Lakers (-250)

The Lakers won game one of the series 117-112 on the road. Los Angeles has a 22-23 record on the road, while Golden State has a 35-10 home record.

In the head-to-head series this season, the Lakers hold a 4-1 lead, having won the last four meetings. The home team has a 3-2 record.

The Lakers have an 8-2 record in their previous ten games, while the Warriors went 6-4.

So, why are we picking the Golden State Warriors to win? First, this series is going likely going seven games. Second, it’s the Warriors at the Chase Center. Third, we don’t trust Anthony Davis to show up and dominate in game two as he did in game one.

And the home team has #30.

We’re taking Golden State to win.

Golden State Warriors -6 over Los Angeles Lakers (-110)

Los Angeles has a 45-43-1 ats record, while Golden State has a 42-46-2 ats record.

The Lakers are 4-0 ats in the previous four meetings with the Warriors and 5-2 ats in the previous seven matchups in the NorCal.

The moneyline favorite has a 2-3 ats record in the Warriors vs Lakers matchups this season.

We’re taking the Warriors to win on the moneyline and to cover the spread of -6 points.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors Under 227.5 (-115)

The Lakers and Warriors have a 2-3 over/under record this season, with the two total points lines being hit listed at 227.0 or lower. Los Angeles has a 46-43-1 over/under record, while Golden State has a 49-39-2 over/under record.

The Lakers are averaging 114.4 ppg against the Warriors this season, while Golden State averaged 110.8 ppg.

With our lack of faith in Anthony Davis – who will be critical in this series, but factoring in the Lakers’ excellent defense, we’re taking the under.
