Action247 Same-Game Parlay for May 2, 2023

You’re likely to get tired of me saying this, but last night was another instance of being so close yet far away from victory.

Last night, we successfully predicted the New Jersey Devils would eliminate the New York Rangers from the Stanley Cup playoffs, with the Devils winning game seven 4-0.

We also successfully predicted that the Denver Nuggets would defeat the Phoenix Suns, with Denver winning 97-87, taking a 2-0 series lead.

However, the Philadelphia 76ers without Joel Embiid and the Boston Celtics defied the trends and probabilities, combining for 234 total points and crushing the over.

However, we picked the game to follow the trends and hit the under. This result gives us another parlay loss, dropping our weekly record to 0-2 but 4-2 on individual picks. We might have an ongoing parlay losing streak, but we are never deterred and always aiming to regain our Parlay Blog Championship!

Rather than give up, we’re back strong with Tuesday’s same-game parlay.

Dallas Stars over Seattle Kraken (-189)

The Dallas Stars hold a 2-1 edge in the head-to-head season series. Two of the three head-to-head games this season were decided in overtime.

The road team won all three head-to-head matchups. Dallas had a 22-10-9 home record, while the Kraken had a 26-11-4 record on the road. Seattle was 3-1 on the road, while Dallas went 2-1 at home in the first round.

However, with the best face-off percentage, the best goals-against average in the playoffs, and an offense scoring 3.5 goals per game – compared to the Kraken’s 2.57 goals per game, we’re taking the Dallas Stars to buck the trends and win game one on home ice.

Seattle Kraken +1.5 over Dallas Stars (-175)

Four of the Kraken’s seven games in the playoffs have ended in a one-goal game, with Seattle posting a 5-2 ats record.

Dallas went 4-2 ats in the first round.

Two of the three head-to-head matchups this season were decided in overtime, with Seattle holding a 2-1 ats record edge.

We’ll take the Kraken to cover the spread in a one-goal game.

Seattle Kraken versus Dallas Stars Under 5.5 (-125)

The Seattle Kraken and Dallas Stars ranked second and third in goals scored this season, only outdone by the McDavids. However, we’re flying close to the sun and taking this game to hit the under of 5.5.

This pick is even more perilous, considering all three matchups this season hit the over.

Dallas went 3-2-1 over/under in the first round.

The under was 6-1 in the Kraken’s first-round series with the Avs’, and Seattle will be missing two of their leading scorers in Jared McCann (70 points in 79 games) and Andre Burakovsky (39 points in 49 games).

Moreover, the Stars’ Jake Oettinger has a 2.01 GAA and a .929 SV% in the playoffs, while Philipp Gurbauer has a 2.44 GAA and a .926 SV% in seven post-season games.

We’re taking the under.
