Overwatch 2 Shows Off New One Punch Man Skins

The Overwatch 2 x One Punch Man skins are coming to Overwatch 2 and are hopefully a start for future collaborations.

Overwatch 2 recently collaborated with One Punch Man and has revealed the various cosmetics coming to the game for a limited time. This is the first major collaboration with another universe and will hopefully not be the last.

The collaboration between One Punch Man and Overwatch 2 was first announced last week. Blizzard had been hinting about the soon-to-be-announced cosmetics, these cosmetics will see the game’s various heroes take on an appearance inspired by the bald-headed hero Saitama and friends.

These skins were first announced through a series of tweets posted by Blizzard. The tweets go on to say that the cosmetics would be exclusive rewards, only available for a limited time. Players can obtain them by completing various challenges. Players would be able to unlock a free Skin for Soldier 76 that will turn them into Mumen Rider from One Punch Man. There are also three other Legendary skins available for other Overwatch 2 heroes such as Kiriko, who will become Terrible Tornado, Genji, who will become Genos and finally, Doomfist, who will become One Punch Man himself.

The Overwatch 2 x One Punch Man collaboration also brings new challenges to Blizzard’s FPS. There will be six unlockable free rewards that can be unlocked by either participating in Unranked, Competitive, or Arcade games. Alongside the Soldier 76 skin, which has a unique victory pose, players will also be able to get themed Weapon Charms that will be related to their corresponding One Punch Man character.

Unlike its predecessor, Overwatch 2 doesn’t feature loot boxes, so if players wish to obtain these limited-time skins, they will have to either obtain them through completing challenges or by purchasing them through the in-game shop.

While these skins are a starting point for, hopefully, more future collaborations, the skins haven’t exactly gone down well with many fans of both franchises. Many have criticized the appearance of these skins and it appears that the Mumen Rider skin for Soldier 76 is the worst offender.
