NBA 2K11 was the first part in the series that had the so-called Jordan challenges. A decade later, NBA 2K23 will repeat that content in a beautiful ode to American basketball in the 80s and 90s. In all editions of the game, including the standard one, we will have 15 Jordan challenges, from his early beginnings to the peak of his career. We will experience the 15 most exciting matches between 1982 and 1998.
As part of these challenges, the presentation of the game will change, as well as the gameplay itself. The game will use a special filter to mimic TV broadcasts from the late 20th century and will have an additional commentator Mike Fratello. Each challenge will be preceded by interviews with Jordan's teammates, coaches, and acquaintances. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dennis Rodman, Phil Jackson, and others will introduce us to the stories.
The gameplay in Jordan's challenges will be slower than in modern basketball. We will see more physical confrontations, and the rules of the game from that era will be authentic. Completing all challenges will bring us rewards in MyTeam and MyCareer mode.
You can find the full list of challenges on the game's official page.
