The fantasy series Baldur's Gate originated on the PC platform and all games from the main series were available to PC players. However, in 2001, the spin-off titleBaldur's Gate: Dark Alliance was released, exclusively for consoles, and three years later its sequel - also only for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Although the PC audience never particularly liked it, 20 years later the first Dark Alliance got a remastered edition and it appeared on the PC platform for the first time. Now the same treatment follows the sequel.

Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2will launch on the 21st of this month for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. The PC version will be available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. As the game will not have online, but only local multiplayer, the version for Steam will have the added convenience of cooperative play via streaming (remote play).

Unlike the games in the main series, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 is a hack and slash title without pausing combat. The remaster itself here is very rudimentary - the game will be adapted to today's hardware, but not necessarily beautified, so don't expect particularly advanced graphics. However, we are talking about an 18-year-old game, whose presentation was not an object of enthusiasm even when the game first appeared.
