And also let us tell you that NDRF is the Paramilitary Lines Force of 12 Battalion. It consists of three BSF, two CRPF, two CISF, two ITBP, and two SSB personnel. Wherever any kind of natural calamity comes, this team does relief work for the stranded people.

Establishment of NDRF Force

NDRF Force was established in 2005. NDRF comes in support of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The NDRF Force is a force of 12 battalions organized on para-military lines and formed by individuals on deputation from the Paramilitary Forces of India.

How to get admission to NDRF?

To take admission in NDRF, a candidate must have passed 12th from a recognized board. One has to be recruited in any force from SSB, ITBP, or CRPF.

What is the potential of NDRF?

From 14 February 2008 to today, the NDRF has a strength of 12 battalions. There are 1149 jawans in each battalion. All these jawans are solely deployed to deal with disaster-related situations only.

NDRF Recruitment

There is no direct recruitment in NDRF. In NDRF, battalions from paramilitary forces are deployed on a deputation basis. The battalions of paramilitary forces deployed in NDRF today are as follows

Border Security Force – Three Battalions
Central Reserve Police Force – Three Battalions
Central Industrial Security Force – Two Battalions
Indo-Tibetan Border Police – Two Battalions
Shastra Seema Bal – Two Battalions

There is a total of 12 Battalions in NDRF. The forces of 3 BSF, 3 CRPF, 2 CISF, 2 ITBP, and 2 SSB are included in this 12 Battalion and they are deployed in 12 most disaster-prone areas of the country.
