Halo Infinite Season 5 trailer reveals the return of Firefight, Master Chief’s armor, Flood cosmetics, enemy AI in Forge and more

343 Industries dropped the trailer for Halo Infinite Season 5, “Reckoning,” earlier this morning and with it the unveiling of an abundance of popular game modes such as Firefight, armor customizations, new maps and the ability to implement AI enemies in Forge.

Check out the full list of updates for Halo Infinite Season 5, “Reckoning,” from the official Halo Twitter/X account below:

First up is the return of Extraction, which is a 5v5 game mode from Halo 4 where each team of Spartans races to extract Slipstream crates from various spawns on the map and protect/deposit them with a specialized beacon.

Halo Infinite Season 5 will also introduce two new Arena maps named Prism and Forbidden, the former of which introduces an intriguing new elemental hazard which appear to be glowing, pink Subanese crystal stalactites hanging from the level’s ceiling; when players shoot at the mineral formation it shatters, sending a cluster of sharp needles at enemies not unlike the Needler weapon.

Halo Infinite Season 5 will also see players able to “infect” their Spartan armor with all-new Flood customization items, giving their Spartans the mutated, necrotic biomass look of the most dangerous threat to existence of life in the Halo mythos.

Thirsty for more PVE content in Halo Infinite? Think you can put together a better level than 343 Industries? Your time to prove it is coming soon as Season 5’s updated Forge mode will bring the brand-new Forge AI toolkit to the table, allowing for creative Halo Infinite types to integrate all sorts of in-game enemies into the mix.

Halo Infinite Season 5 finally marks the return of the popular Firefight mode, a PVE subgame where players can link up to defend against hordes of invading enemies. Thus far, 343 has listed Halo Infinite‘s Firefight mode as Firefight King of the Hill, meaning it will incorporate elements of King of the Hill mode, where players have to hold a designated area of the map for a certain amount of time before moving onto a new location. Halo Infinite Season 5’s Firefight King of the Hill mode will be available during the mid-season update.

And of course, the update many longtime Halo fans are looking forward to in Halo Infinite Season 5 is the first time long-standing protagonist Master Chief’s armor will be playable in PVP. As 343 put it in their Halo Waypoint blog post, “Complete your Career Rank journey and obtain the rank of Hero to unlock the Infinite Mark VI Armor Kit.”
