Mamelodi Sundowns return SA, Next Psl Match in 24 hrs

Mamelodi Sundowns returned to South Africa this morning following their triumph over CR Belouizdad on Saturday night, and they will resume domestic competition tomorrow.

Masandawana dismissed any concerns of a slump by convincingly defeating the Algerian champions in their first-leg quarter-final in Algiers, putting an end to their four-game winless streak.

They arrived at OR Tambo this morning after an evening flight on Sunday with Air Egypt, but there is no time to rest as they prepare to face Richards Bay at Loftus Versveld at 15h00 on Tuesday.

Khuliso Madau, speaking to Sundowns media, said, "We're a bit exhausted, yet we have a significant game tomorrow, so I believe the boys' mentality is right. We must win since we have been drawing and losing. We must bring the team back to winning ways. They are a good team, but as I stated, we haven't been getting good results. If we go into this game with the correct mentality and energy, we will ensure that we win."

The South African international full-back acknowledged that they had received a morale-boosting victory, but they are not relying on the euphoria of securing an away win to motivate themselves for the Natal Richboyz.

"As a team, we adhere to the 24-hour rule (to overcome the previous match). We won, we celebrated the victory, but now we must concentrate on the next one."

Masandawana aims to set a new points record of 72 with their remaining four games of the season. They will face Belouizdad again on Saturday afternoon in the return leg.
