Arsenal News: £75,000-a-week midfielder could leave Arsenal during the summer

Gunners have perhaps been given a cause for concern over the future of Lucas Torreira after comments from the player’s agent, Pablo Bentancur. Uruguay international joined Arsenal from Sampdoria in 2018 and has gone on to play 83 games for the Gunners while often featuring for Mikel Arteta after his appointment in Dec.

In turn, it's as if Torreira has a crucial role to play at the London giants moving forward, however there could be some concern over his future as a results of Pablo’s latest comments.

While he doesn’t recommend that Lucas is pushing for an exit as such, he does seemingly leave the door open to a doable return to Italy, as per the desire of his client.

“Lucas had been in a very bit of a bad mood over some technical variations, then he recovered,” he said. “Then the injury arrived, fortunately, less serious than expected. today he's fully recovered.”

Those aren’t precisely the most pacifying of words in terms of the 24-year-old midfielder staying at the Emirates stadium, though it remains to be seen if Arsenal are even willing to greenlight an exit this summer.

The Spanish manager will beyond any doubt hope to stamp his mark on the squad prior next campaign and with funds perhaps likely to be limited given the financial impact of the covid19 pandemic, raising funds from player sales could be a vital solution.

That said, Mikel Arteta will for certain wish to build on the standard he already has rather than sacrifice influential  footballers to switch them just, simply time can tell if the Uruguayan midfielder is on his way back to Italy or not.
