SB Poker $750k GTD March Madness Series Begins

The foreseeable future of land-based poker tournaments may currently be in considerable jeopardy, but that doesn’t stop online poker rooms from being able to provide exciting events to their players. Such is the case where SB Poker is concerned, because the March Madness tournament series kicked off on Sunday, Mar. 15 at this brand and the rest of the Chico Poker Network. There are guarantees totaling $750,000, and the Main Event takes place on Sunday, Mar. 29 with a minimum of $150,000 up for grabs.

The March Madness Schedule

The March Madness NCAA basketball tournament has been canceled, leading to disappointment both for fans of the teams and sports bettors. The March Madness Tournament Series is intended to serve as a way to capture at least some of the fun, and it is running during the same latter-half of March timeframe as the collegiate athletic tournament was originally supposed to.

There are 80 events taking place, including the Main Event, meaning that a large number of players at SB Poker will be walking away as victors. The opening day saw 12 different events occur, including the Deep 6 No Limit Hold’em with a $20 + $2 buy-in and the Monster: $30,000 GTD No Limit Hold’em for a buy-in of $200 + $15.

The remainder of the tournament schedule includes the Main Event, set to occur at 1:00 PM ET on March 29. This will also be played as No Limit Hold’em poker and it comes with a buy-in of $100 as well as a fee of $9. From playing in this event, you stand a chance of winning part of the $150,000 guarantee although we expect this amount to be surpassed due to the phenomenon of people staying at home because of coronavirus, bored and looking to play some online poker.

The Sunday previous to the Main Event – the 22nd – will see another highlight occur in the Sunday Main Event. This one will also take place at 1:00 PM and has the same $100 buy-in and $9 fee attached to it. With this one, players can involve themselves in a boosted $100,000 guarantee, which is more than the usual Sportsbetting.ag Sunday guarantee of $60,000. Usually, this event would take place at 4:00 PM, but for this series, it has been moved forward three hours.

Both Main Events have satellites running. You can win your seat for as little as $1.10 if bankroll considerations would otherwise prevent you from playing.

Other Highlights of the March Madness Tournament

While the two Main Events are obvious highlights of participating in the $750K March Madness festivities, there are a few other events that you may wish to take notice of in the schedule. Keep your eyes on the following:

  • Friday, March 20 at 7:00 PM, Event #40. Re-Entry 6-Max, $5,000 GTD. Buy-in: $15/Bounty: $16.50/Fee: $1.50
  • Monday, March 23 at 6:00 PM, Event #60. Monster Bounty, Freezeout $20,000 GTD. Buy-in: $50/Bounty: $55/Fee: $5
  • Tuesday, March 24 at 7:00 PM, Event #62. Bounty 6’s: $25,000 GTD. Buy-in: $225/Bounty: $275/Fee: $25
  • Friday, March 27 at 9:00 PM, Event #68. Turbo Bounty: $10,000 GTD. Buy-in: $25/Bounty: $27.50/Fee: $2.50
  • Sunday, March 29 at 4:00 PM, Event #77. Monster Grind: $30,000 GTD. Buy-in: $20/Fee: $2

How to Participate in March Madness

To be able to participate in the March Madness tournament, you’ll need to be a member of the poker room. Registering for an account is an easy process to undertake, requiring a few of your details to be entered into the Sportsbetting Poker website. We show you how to do this, along with a lot of other information about the room, in our fact-laden SB Poker review. You’re able to deposit into your account there using a number of different supported payment methods, including cryptocurrencies, e-wallets, and credit and debit cards.

The March Madness series isn’t something that relates to the SB Poker brand exclusively as there are a couple of network partners across which the series is running too. The BetOnline poker room also offers the tournament as does the more international platform, TigerGaming. While US players have the possibility of accessing the Sportsbetting.ag and BetOnline sites, TigerGaming is not available in the States and can only be accessed by players from elsewhere around the world.

If you hold an account at one of these sites, you can easily enter into one of the events as part of this tournament. If you don’t possess an account, then you can proceed to sign up for one. Should you opt to do this, then you will also be able to benefit from a welcome offer at the same time. This exists as a 100% bonus on top of your initial deposit, with a maximum of $1,000 able to be claimed.
