If you’ve ever had a do-it-yourself Fireworks night, you’ll know how easy it is to end up with more fizzle than sizzle. We asked you for your own tales of Guy Fawkes gone wrong. We figured there’d be a few fires to put out, but we never thought the police would be involved!
Here’s one from Emma-Louise:
“Two years ago we bought a box of fireworks for bonfire night. Kids a safe distance away. Lit the first one. Nothing. Second one, nothing. Whole box of duds. Kids had to settle for a £1 packet of sparklers.”
Sandra says:
“Many years ago I was at a fireworks party. Someone set a rocket in a bottle and lit it. The bottle fell over, sending the rocket in my direction and straight into my pocket! Luckily someone had the sense to pull my coat off and stamp it out. Still got the coat, no pocket though.”
Louise remembers:

“I had a house party on my 16th birthday. One of my friends brought some fireworks from South Africa. You couldn’t find stuff like that back then. We went up to the roof to set then off.
