Meizu Could Release Edge Device

Samsung must have made the world sit up and take notice when it first revealed its Galaxy S6 Edge last year, and that particular model proved to be even more popular than the Galaxy S6 itself, despite carrying a heftier price tag. Perhaps it was the novelty of it all, or for the simple fact that it simply works, no questions asked. Clearly inspired by the South Korean conglomerate, Meizu is said to be working on its very own ‘edge’ device which could very well roll out some time in the second half of the year.

In fact, it seems that Meizu CEO Huang Zhang have already confirmed the existence of such a device, as an image which supposedly depicts the handset has already been leaked over in China. The phone will in all probability be known as the Meizu Pro 6 Edge or Pro 7, and it is tipped to retail for somewhere in the region of $450 at the minimum, as it is powered by Meizu’s Flyme OS 6 that will be based on the Android platform. One can only assume that when the hardware moves in such a direction, so too, will the software – and hence, brace yourselves for a select kind of shortcuts that can only be accessed via such an ‘edge’.
