As you might have heard, Blood and Wine will be the next expansion for The Witcher 3, something that we’re fans are looking forward to. However it should be noted that if you are looking forward to it, you should probably take your time with the game and truly savor every moment because it could very well be the last we see of the franchise.
According to a report from Eurogamer, they spoke to CD Projekt’s co-founder Marcin Iwinski about the future of The Witcher franchise following this expansion. When asked if the studio will be leaving the series for good, Iwinski replied by saying, “As we said before, never say never [but] right now it’s really Blood and Wine. This is the end. Blood and Wine is [the] closing and there won’t be any Witcher any time soon – if there ever will be one. And I would really like to see how people feel about it, if they will enjoy it.”
Now you might be thinking that maybe the developers are trying to throw us off because according to a recent outline of a 6-year plan, the company had a mysterious triple-A RPG planned between 2017 to 2021. Now that’s quite a while to go which has some speculating that maybe The Witcher 4 was that mysterious triple-A title.
