ASUS Zenbo Junior Robot Reportedly Being Developed

Some of you may remember that ASUS unveiled a home Robot called Zenbo back in May 2016. The robot was limited to select markets in Asia only and it was more of an experimental product. The response appears to have bene good because ASUS is now believed to be working on a successor to the robot called Zenbo Junior. It may come with a new processor, artificial intelligence features, and will have Android as its operating system.

The original Zenbo is a wheeled robot that responds to voice commands. It can set reminders, control smart home devices, and even tell the user who’s at the door through a connected camera all in response to voice commands.

ASUS hasn’t revealed anything about the Zenbo Junior at this point in time but a Twitter-based leakster says that it’s in the pipeline.

He further mentions that the Intel Atom processor that powered its predecessor is out and that the Snapdragon 845 will power the new robot instead. The flagship Qualcomm processor has reportedly been picked because the new robot will offer additional artificial intelligence features.

It’s unclear when ASUS is going to launch this robot but with the IFA 2018 trade show in Berlin just around the corner, it’s possible that we may see the Zenbo Junior being announced later this month.
