HMD Global, the company that has the license to produce and sell smartphones under the Nokia brand, has launched a couple of new devices at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona today one of which is the Nokia 8 Sirocco. It’s a flagship Android One device that comes with all of the bells and whistles that you would expect from a flagship smartphone in this day and age. It’s also interesting to note that there’s glass on 95 percent of the Nokia 8 Sirocco with only a slim stainless-steel chassis running along the sides.
The Nokia 8 flagship was first launched in August last year. The Nokia 8 Sirocco is an upgraded variant of that device with new design changes that surely make it look quite appealing.
The handset has a 5.5 inch pOLED curved display with 2560×1440 pixel resolution. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The fingerprint sensor has been relocated to the back to make more room for the curved display at the front.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco has a dual camera at the back with a 12 megapixel primary lens coupled with ZEISS optics. There’s also a 5 megapixel front camera with a wide-angle lens. A new Pro Camera mode brings advanced manual control options allowing users to change shutter speed, ISO, focusing, white balance, and more.
