SpaceX conducted the very first test flight of its Falcon Heavy rocket yesterday. It was a success and the company even managed to recover two of the three boosters it used for the launch. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk revealed during the press event after the launch that the company will now be focusing on the development of its BFR, that’s the codename for its next big space launch vehicle.

BFR or (big f-ing rocket) will be designed to use a single stage booster to reach the orbit with fully loaded tanks.

Musk said that most of the company’s engineering resources will now be dedicated to the BFR and that we can expect a full-scale test of the rocket within three to four years. Musk added that the BFR could be ready for “short hopper flights with the spaceship part” of the rocket possibly by next year.

In the three to four years that it’s going to take SpaceX to conduct a full-scale test of the BFR, it will continue to service customers with its Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy Rockets. Musk mentioned that the company will stop revising its Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets soon and divert its attention to the BFR which will really advance the company’s objective to achieve interplanetary transportation.
