Apple Seeing ‘Strong Demand’ For Replacement iPhone Batteries

In a letter sent to US lawmakers last week, Apple revealed that there is “strong demand” for Replacement Iphone Batteries. This doesn’t really come as a surprise given that paying $29 to bring your phone back to optimal performance is considerably cheaper than buying a brand new iPhone.

In fact for some iPhone users, the demand has been too great that they have to wait weeks to months for a Replacement. However what about customers who have paid the full price for battery replacements prior to Apple announcing the replacement program? The good news is that based on the letter, it seems that Apple is at the very least considering issuing rebates to customers who might have paid full price for a replacement battery.

However we should point out that Apple is only considering this at this point in time, and there’s no guarantee that they will actually go through with it (but hopefully they do). Apple has been facing a ton of scrutiny following their admission that they do slow down iPhones. They are being questioned by various government bodies around the world, as well as being hit by several class-action lawsuits by consumers.

We doubt that the scandal will be dying down anytime soon, so we have to wonder how Apple plans on riding the storm out, and if long-term it could affect the company’s reputation and sales, although the company’s recent financials seem to suggest that maybe Apple might not be as affected as you might think.
