We started hearing a lot of rumors about the Blackberry Mercury late last year. This TCL-made handset is called the Blackberry Keyone. It may look like a conventional BlackBerry device with its full QWERTY keyboard but since the Canadian company is no longer making devices, it’s actually made by TCL under the BB brand. Those who have been waiting to pick one up in the United States will be delighted to know that the BlackBerry KEYOne release has now taken place in the country.

The handset was actually supposed to release a bit earlier in the country but the company decided to delay the release. It’s now following through with the release, finally, for prospective customers in the United States.

The BlackBerry KEYOne features a 4.5 inch Full HD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 825 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. It also features a 12 megapixel rear and 8 megapixel front camera as well as a 3,505mAh battery. The device is powered by Android 7.1 Nougat.

It does have BlackBerry’s signature full QWERTY keyboard which has a few tricks up its sleeve. There’s a fingerprint sensor embedded below the space key while each of the keys can be programmed as a hot key for quickly launching apps.

The BlackBerry KEYOne is now available for purchase in the United States from Amazon and Best Buy. It’s available unlocked and off contract for $549.99.
