Next ‘Layton’ Game Will Be Arriving On iOS And Android This July

If you love Puzzle Games then there’s a good chance that the Professor Layton series of puzzle games might be familiar to you. The game has typically been released on Nintendo’s handheld 3DS gaming console first before finding its way to other platforms, like mobile, but it seems that the next Layton title could be hitting mobile first.

As reported by Kotaku, the developers at Level-5 have confirmed that the next Layton game titled “Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy” will be arriving to the US on mobile first on the 20th of July. Note that this release date also applies to the 3DS version of the game, but the 3DS version will be launched in Japan first.

This means that gamers in the US who are looking forward to a localized version for their 3DS will have to wait, but in the meantime the availability on mobile means you can play it on your iOS or Android device if you’d prefer or if you can’t wait. Alternatively you could always import the Japanese version, but unless you are familiar with the language it would kind of be pointless.

Unlike the previous Layton games that starred Professor Layton, this version will instead feature his daughter, Katrielle, who appears to be taking up the mantle of her father possibly in future titles as well. In the meantime you can check out the trailer for the game in the video above.
