At the moment when it comes to mobile, Microsoft has been rather quiet on that front, although rumors of a Surface Phone have been popping up every now and then. However over the years we’ve seen the Redmond company make various attempts, such as releasing apps for both iOS and Android in an attempt to get users to use their products and services.
That strategy appears to be ongoing and Microsoft’s latest effort comes in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Microsoft Edition. Basically this is the Samsung Galaxy S8 except that it will come with certain Microsoft customizations and apps that will not be available on the “regular” Galaxy S8 handsets.
Note that the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will come with Microsoft’s basic apps, like their Office suite of productivity apps as per their partnership from a couple of years ago. However the Microsoft Edition will come with additional Microsoft apps, such as Cortana, OneDrive, Outlook, Skype, MSN News, and more.
