Google doesn’t allow anyone under the age of 13 to make a Google account but now it has created a new tool which will enable those young users to hop on the Google ecosystem as well. Family Link will enable adults to create and manage a Google account for their kids that are under the age of 13. The tool will have advanced parental controls built-in so that they can always look out for their kids’ best interests.

Users will only be able to set up a Family Link account for a kid under the age of 13 via the app, it’s also required for managing the account and monitoring device activity. Advanced parental control features include screen time tracking, app rating limits, bedtime schedules, and more.

All of these options are aimed at allowing parents to control and manage their kids’ Google accounts as long as they’re under 13. When they hit that age, it’s up to the family to decide whether or not they want to continue using it.

However, when they do reach that age, Google will ask them whether or not they would like to move over to a regular Google account, you know, the one that their parents can’t control.

The only caveat here is that Family Link is currently invite-only so you can request one here and during setup, it also asks users to pay $0.30 for the service.
