T-Mobile has really stepped up its competitive strategy in the last year announcing a some surprising moves one after the other. Most of this move have definitely benefited the subscribers to its network not only through pricing but also better options than that of some of its competitors.  In the last year the company has also increased cell coverage. I used to travel through areas where the Carrier had spotty coverage it has now added LTE services or 4G through those areas where the carrier had poor signal.  Today the carrier has announced their next move which will benefit  those who love streaming content over their devices. The carrier has partnered up with some big names in the media consumption business including Netflix, VUDU,  Sling TV, HBO Now, Hulu, WatchESPN, among others.  They are calling this move Binge On; here is the breakdown of their new strategy:

• Binge ON: Starting November 15th, Simple Choice users on a qualifying plan are FREE to stream unlimited video on your favorite services like Netflix, HBO NOW, Hulu, and many more without using a drop of your data. Nothing to configure – all automatically applied to your plan. Streamers, go ahead and Binge On™.
• List of those included in this plan:  Netflix,  HBO NOW, HBO GO, Hulu, Sling TV, Sling Box, ESPN, Showtime, Starz, Movieplex, Encore, T-Mobile TV , Vevo, Vessel, Univision Deportes, Major League Baseball, Go90, DirecTV, Fox Sports, Fox Sports GO, NBC Sports, Crackle, VUDU, Ustream.  If you do not see your favorite service you can request it by sending a Tweet to @Tmobile
• For unlimited customers T-Mobile has included a free movie rental each moth for a year from VUDU more about it here.

Another big announcement from today is that the carrier is going to double the data allotment to each plan for example is you had a 1GB included in your plan then it will increase to 2GB, 3gb to 6GB, 5GB to 10GB. The way the carrier has managed to pull this off is by partnering with several content providers, but the carrier wouldn’t be doing this without having a business incentive they can’t simply give it all away right. During the Q&A session the questions was asked how this affected net neutrality and the CEO dismiss any issues this move will have on the freedom of the internet. Some still worry though that moves like this could potentially compromise the internet in the future because of the power companies can have on how we access content going forward. Net neutrality is a big issue and there is legitimate reasons for concern when companies like T-mobile make such moves that affect our choice.
