Canon EOS 1300D Review

Canon has launched its new Camera which is Canon EOS 1300D. Before Canon has launched EOS 1200D two years ago which was quite popular at first, may be due to company’s marketing campaigns. But now it has released its latest Model EOS 1300D which has some extra features compare to its previous model. This new model has Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities along with some other minor changes just to make it exciting at the time of buying. So let us see whether this new model of canon can gather extra news or not.

Design and build

Canon has not made much difference in this latest model and EOS 1300D looks almost similar design as the previous models. The entire body is made of plastic with matte texture and it helps for good grip. It has rubber padding where your fingers go and makes it easy to shoot with one hand. The quality of plastic suggest about the tight budget in mind. Body of this model is lighter at 440g and more compact than EOS 1200D. This new model has an input for wired remote with mini USB port along with a mini-HDMI port. Canon has added a Wi-Fi signal LED that flashes at the time of connecting the camera to a smartphone.

Features

The features has not much changed compared to its previous model 1200D. This new model has 18 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, has native ISO range of 100-6400 and has the capability to 3fps burst shooting. The camera can shoot in RAW, JPEG and JPEG+RAW models and video records at 1920x1080 at 30fps. The sensor of camera has nine autofocus points along with one cross type point in center.

Performance

In ISO test, 1300D was held up well till ISO 800 providing users with colorful and sharp details pictures. But at ISO 1600, little bit decrease in sharpness is seen along with little luminance noise begins to creep in. Moving forward to ISO 3200 and 6400, the result seems almost not usable and too much noise begins and detail level take a big hit. In daylight, the camera captures a detail image as the color reproduction is good but the camera is not good in dynamic range and so the photos don’t comes vibrant. Due to its cross type autofocus point, many close-up subjects somewhere lacks the sharpness and depth. But this defect is due to the lens which is parted.
