In past year Gionee has made a reasonable bang on Indian smartphone market. As launching the Elife E7 and shocked the world by bringing the Elife S 5.5, thinnest phone in the world. Now the Chinese company shaved the few more millimetres and launched the Elife S5.1 that is again the thinnest phone in the world almost a centimeter thinner than iPhone 6.
At the first look, this phone just looks like the iPhone 5S. Yes it is thinner than you expect or ever imagined. In fact at some point like iPhone 6, you will forget after a point that your phone is there on your pocket. The volume and the power keys are on left side and which is something we are used to. Being so thin there is no place for SD card. Luckily the audio jack is there on right next to micro-USB port.
The display is very decent and works very well even in bright sunlight. But it is only HD and not 1080p. It is surely be a negative point.
The S5.1 is the stylish phone but doesn’t have the premium look when it comes to specification. If you one of those who want to unleash the power of Android then this phone is not for you. You get 1GB RAM but it doesn’t mean that the phone lacks in performance. Average user will not face any issue while using the phone for multi-tasking and other heavy duty such as gaming and multi-tab browsing.

This device doesn’t run pure Android, so those who are planning to switch need to adjust. It’s not a big deal but those who don’t like Amigo OS much.
Storage can be an issue for some users as the phone doesn’t come with an external storage support. So its upto you to use your 11.5GB wisely or end up using USB adapter a lot. After looking at Gionee Elife S5.1 review and features think before switching.
