Motorola Moto Z And Motorola Moto Z Force Complete Review

Motorola decided to try something different and therefore it has launched new different modular flagship smartphones. The super thin Moto Z Droid ($624) and the sturdier Moto Z Force Droid ($720). Some might bristle that both are exclusive to Verizon and aren’t yet slated for an international launch, but there’s no two ways about it. These are still the most exciting Motorola phones in a long time.

While much of the internal hardware is almost the same, there are few notable differences between the two models. The Moto Z Droid has battery capacity of 2600mAh battery, which is below the roughly 3000mAh average for phones with 5.5-inch displays. The Moto Z Force Droid has battery capacity to 3500mAh. Differences in software and display efficiency will likely determine if the Force Droid can outlast the Galaxy S7 edge.

The Moto Z Droid includes 13 MP Sony senor that pairs standard contrast based autofocus with a laser to improve focus performance in low light. The Moto Z Force Droid uses a more advanced 21MP Sony sensor camera with deep trench isolation (DTI) technology for improved color quality. It uses a hybrid autofocus system that combines laser, phase detection (PDAF), and contrast detection features, which provide faster, more reliable focusing performance in various lightening conditions.

While the Moto Z Droid’s screen is covered with Gorilla Glass, whereas the other model uses Motorola's second-generation Moto ShatterShield technology which is a 5 layer system  with an aluminum panel as a to keep the 5.5 inch AMOLED screen from flexing.  Two different layers above the display provide the redundancy if by chance one of the layer gets damaged. It’s flexible lens is made of polycarbonate. The 2nd protective lens with a branded hardcoat completes the display stack.
