There have been rumours that Oneplus may be working on the new OnePlus 5T, and while there have been invites sent out to major publications regarding the release of a new phone from OnePlus, it seems that the invite is a fake and that the 5T or the 6, could be coming out a little later than expected.
The official looking invite from OnePlus showed that the event for the launch of the new phone would happen on November 5 in China. The invite also showed the silhouette of a phone with rather slim bezels and a “T” in the screen, indicating that the phone would be the T variant of the OnePlus 5 and that it would have an impressive display. Curiously, the company’s OnePlus 5 smartphone has also gone out of stock all over the world, sparking more speculation that we may soon see OnePlus’s next big smartphone coming soon.
When the OnePlus 5T does eventually makes its way to users’ hands, it will be an expensive phone compared the already pricey OnePlus 5. The phone might come with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 like the OnePlus 5, but it wouldn’t make sense for OnePlus to upgrade the outgoing model with the same chipset. However, the new phone will most likely launch with Android Oreo on-board, as OnePlus 3 and 3T users are already receiving their beta versions of the Oreo update.
For optics, the OnePlus 5T is expected to get a dual-camera setup, just like its predecessor, with a primary 20MP sensor and a secondary 16MP sensor. It would come in two variants, with one featuring 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage while the other would come with 128GB of internal storage with 8GB of RAM.
The Express has come across a different kind of leak, which shows what OnePlus may actually be working on, with the display of the OnePlus 5 being the main focus in the OnePlus 5T and will most likely happen in November. The company is expected to launch the 5T with a 2160×1080 display and an 18:9 aspect ratio, following in the footsteps of this year’s more established flagships. The information should be taken with a pinch of salt, however, as the previous rumours regarding the official invite were proven wrong by OnePlus, it would be safer not to expect anything new from the company until at least the arrival of November.
