LG V30 image leaks leave little to imagination until August 31 launch

The LG V30 is nearly upon us and by the end of the month, fans will be able to see the smartphone that the LG G6 was meant to be, take on the current generation of flagship phones with full force. As with all phones that near their launch date nowadays, the LG V30’s Leaks have also surfaced, providing the internet with enough to decipher upon whether the experience is worth the wait. And suffice to say, it surely is.

According to a report by Mashable, the leaks show all of the sides of the phone and come courtesy of Evan Blass, who is known for leaking valuable information of news of upcoming smartphones. Just as fans have been wanting, the phone has a near bezel-less screen; even better than the G6. The back of the phone houses the dual-camera sensor with flash and the fingerprint scanner located just at the bottom. Samsung will need to learn from LG on how to appropriately place fingerprint sensors on the back of phones. The phone looks like it will come in a metallic chassis and will ditch the glass back that was present on the G6. Most important, the Secondary Screen that the V series is known for, is absent, since it was not really necessary.

Android Authority has uncovered that instead of a secondary screen, the company has instead opted to include a floating bar with shortcuts that is just as functional as the secondary screen on past iterations. This floating bar can be swiped away and brought up as per the user’s whims. With LG now integrating the multi-faceted V30’s features with that of the G6, the company’s design language now seems to look more fluid, as is the case with Samsung’s current design choices for its smartphones.

Another functionality that has become absent on the phone, which otherwise would not be on regular smartphone, is the power button. In this case, LG have now integrated the features of the power button onto the fingerprint sensor. The biggest feature that the V30 will be bringing to the table this year however, is its new dual-camera setup that is more unique than its competition.

LG will have better camera performance on the V30 over its older siblings, the V10 and the V20. This time around, the phone will feature an f/1.6 aperture, which is the lowest in the market and should allow for clearer images, better bokeh and more absorption of light, making dark scenes more bearable to shoot. The lenses featured on the phone will also be glass, as opposed to the regular plastic ones that we are used to seeing on most phones. Inside, the phone comes with the Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Another change from older models is, that this time, the V30 will not feature a removable back-plate as previous models have. Hopefully, the battery life and the pricing will be competitive enough for fans to overlook the next three big launches left for the year – the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the Google Pixel 2 phones and the iPhone 8.
